Transfer Orientation Housing

To assist with travel schedules, June 7, June 14, and July 29 Transfer Orientation students and families have the option of staying on campus.

About the Transfer Student Early Arrival Program
Students may arrive the evening prior to Orientation (arriving June 6/June 13/July 28) and stay in on-campus Orientation Housing in Cobb Residence Hall. A special evening program will be offered for Transfer students who have an Early Arrival reservation. The interactive program, facilitated by University Career Services Staff, will provide an opportunity for you to connect with other new transfer students and to gain lifelong career development skills. Light refreshments will be provided. The cost for a Transfer Student Early Arrival is $45.

  1. The residence hall consists of traditional, corridor-style halls and shared bathroom facilities.
  2. All residence hall rooms are standard residence hall rooms with air-conditioning, two twin beds, sheets, pillows and pillow cases.
  3. The following items are not provided in the rooms: blanket, internet access, television, or refrigerator.
  4. Students will be assigned another transfer student roommate.

Check-in Information for the Transfer Student Early-Arrival Program

If you made a reservation to participate in the Transfer Student Early Arrival Program (arriving June 6/June 13/July 28) please plan to arrive at the Granville Towers Parking lot by 6:00pm on June 6/June 13/July 28. Staff will greet you in the parking lot and provide you with a parking permit. Please bring all your belongings with you when boarding the Orientation shuttle from Granville Towers. Staff will assist you in getting checked into Cobb Residence Hall and then to the FPG Student Union for the 7pm-9pm program. The interactive program, facilitated by University Career Services Staff, will provide an opportunity for you to connect with other new transfer students and to gain lifelong career development skills. Light refreshments will be provided.

Transfer Student Late Departure Option
Students may stay in on-campus housing in Cobb Residence Hall the night of Orientation (June 7/June 14/July 29); please note there are not planned evening activities for Orientation students with a Late Departure.

  1. The cost for a Transfer Student Late Checkout is $35.
  2. The residence hall consists of traditional, corridor-style halls and shared bathroom facilities.
  3. All residence hall rooms are standard residence hall rooms with air-conditioning, two twin beds, sheets, pillows and pillow cases.
  4. The following items are not provided in the rooms: blanket, internet access, television, or refrigerator.
  5. Students will be assigned another transfer student roommate.

Family Member and Guest Early Arrival/Late Departure Option
Family members and guests may stay in on-campus housing in Joyner Residence Hall the night before (June 6/June 13/July 28) and/or the night of Orientation (June 7/June 14/June 29); please note there are not planned evening activities for family members or guests staying in on-campus, overnight housing.

  1. In addition to the Family/Guest Orientation Reservation fee, there is a charge of $69.00 per room for overnight, on-campus housing
  2. Family members and guests must be registered for Orientation to reserve on-campus Orientation Guest Housing.
  3. At least one person in the room must be a minimum of 18 years old.
  4. The residence hall consists of traditional, corridor-style halls and shared bathroom facilities.
  5. All residence hall rooms are standard residence hall rooms with air-conditioning, two twin beds, sheets, pillows and pillow cases.
  6. The following items are not provided in the rooms: blanket, internet access, television, or refrigerator.

August 14 Make-Up Transfer Orientation

Transfer students participating in the August 14 Orientation session may move directly into their on-campus and/or Granville Towers housing assignment; no Orientation housing is available for students who live off-campus. Transfer students attending the August 14th Make-Up Orientation may move into their Fall Housing Assignment beginning at 9:00 am on Tuesday, August 13, 2013. Please note that families/guests CANNOT be accommodated in on-campus housing during the August Transfer Student Orientation. Families are encouraged to contact local hotels that offer special Orientation rates.
